Painting It Grey
So I have one of those bedroom sets from the 90's and it's time for some purging and upcycling. I decided to experiment with a nightstand. My inspiration were these knobs at Anthropologie. I used Gripper primer, Light French Gray Behr paint and will be putting a top coat on soon because my kitties are going to scratch it otherwise. I ended up not being able to use the Anthropologie knobs but I WILL find a home for them!

Our Salvation Army finds made into a chandelier! Very easy to make with an old bike wheel, fishing hooks, 14 mason jars and a string of Christmas lights.

Industrial Bohemian Patio
Hi Nesters!
For the last month my interior designer friends and I have been a part of a special event put on by the American Society for Interior Designers that benefits the Salvation Army. We got to go to the SA warehouse and pick items to design a vignette in one of their stores. After its all done, customers can put a bid in via silent auction and it raises money for the adult rehabilitation center in Anaheim, California. We compete against three other teams. The theme we chose is called Industrial Bohemian. That sounds like an oxymoron right? That is what is so great about the space! It's a contrast of metals and bright colors! Old office equipment and beautiful ethnic patterns.
Did you know you can make just about any room look fabulous with items found at the Salvation Army? For instance, I made a chandelier from an old bike rim and fourteen mason jars. I just strung white Christmas lights inside the voilá! We are still staging the area, but here is a preliminary picture. Everything inside the pergola was made from the SA! So get out to some thrift stores and find yourself a treasure!

Our first post!
Hello friends, family and readers,
We are Stephanie Cardon and Barbara Moesta, two friends from Orange County, California who love interior design. We believe great design should be available to every person, whether you want to redesign your whole house or learn to work with what you already have. We love Do It Yourself projects, space planning, color schemes and most of all, textiles!! But what is most important is discovering a design concept that is uniquely YOU. If you are anything like us you probably have a stack of torn out pictures from design mags and are learning to collect new "pins" on the computer. That is how it started for us and that is what this blog is going to be about. Sharing ideas, inspirations and all things design. So please join our conversation. We can't wait to meet you!
